Kildalton Park apprentice Jake Toeroek continued his fairytale introduction to race riding by landing Velocidade a winner at his first ride in the metropolitan area. Trainer Tony McEvoy described Toeroek’s ride as superb. “Jake showed patience and poise – it was very exciting,” McEvoy said. A $3.10 favourite, Velocidade came from well back in the field of 12 to claim a half-length win in the Capital Transport Maiden (1600m).

Saturday Quinella - 21st April 2012

Impressive staying three-year-old Pelicano rounded off his race preparation for the South Australian Derby with a victory in the Goodwood Day 12th May Handicap (2400m) at Morphettville Parks. Forced into the uncharacteristic role of pacemaker early, Pelicano, backed from $2.80 to start $2.45 favourite, was beautifully ridden by stable jockey Matthew Neilson to score a two and a quarter length win from stablemate Raki ($3) to give Kildalton Park trainer Tony McEvoy the quinella.

Glacial Miss - 14th April 2012

Former Queensland mare Glacial Miss notched her third win from four starts for Kildalton Park trainer Tony McEvoy at Morphettville on Saturday. Again, the daughter of Iglesia came with a late run to score a photo finish win. Beautifully ridden by stable jockey Matthew Neilson, Glacial Miss sprinted strongly in the home straight to score by a short head in the Myer Handicap (1200m).
