Unfair dismisses rivals

Promising Unfair Dismissal finished his two-year-old season with a dominant black type win at Morphettville Parks on Saturday, July 21.

A $7 chance, Unfair Dismissal, ridden by John Allen, scored a three-quarter length win in the Listed $100,000 Mypunter.com Oaklands Plate (1400m) beating Firstclass Dreamer ($26) with Tongsai Boss ($31), a length away third.

Trainer Tony McEvoy said he felt the colt had proven too strong for his rivals.

“His pedigree has said the further in trip we went, the better he would be,” McEvoy said.

“He is a good tough colt who has been in work for a long time.

“He is a galloping horse and John (Allen) got him in a lovely rhythm and had him in a perfect position and Unfair Dismissal was a dominant winner.”

The winning jockey agreed with McEvoy.

“He is a beautiful big horse with a long stride,” Allen said.

“I was able to sit outside the leader early and in the home straight move out to the part of the track where I wanted.

“He ran strongly through the line.”

Unfair Dismissal, by All Too Hard, was purchased for $120,000 by the Makybe Racing and Breeding Pty Ltd at the 2017 Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale.

The Oaklands Plate win was his third from seven starts and took his stakemoney to $111,000.
