Sisstar to return
The Tony McEvoy-trained Sisstar (Zoustar), a sister to three-time Group 1-winning sprinter Sunlight, will make her belated seasonal return in the voBiS Gold Rush (1000m) at Bendigo on Saturday.
The filly has recovered from a bruised heel that delayed her intended reappearance earlier in March.
Sisstar is tracking a path to the inaugural The Showdown (1200m), a $1 million race for Super voBiS nominated horses at Caulfield on April 27, and she is set to head to the Dequetteville Stakes (Listed, 1050m) at Morphettville on April 13 in the interim.
“She’s had time to get over that (bruised heel) and i don’t think that little setback will be too big a problem for her,” McEvoy said. “She’ll go over to Adelaide to run in a stakes race after Saturday.”
