Over Exposure wins again
Talented Tony McEvoy-trained three-year-old Over Exposure made it three wins from just six starts when he proved too strong in the Impending New To Darley In Victoria Handicap (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday, April 14.
Ridden by Jamie Kah, Over Exposure, the well backed $2.60 favourite, was caught wide in the run but ran home well to score by a long neck from Danger Deal ($14) with Twitchy Frank ($21), three-quarters of a length away third.
Assistant trainer Calvin McEvoy said the ultimate goal this preparation for the gelding was the Listed $110,000 H N Nitschke Stakes (1400m) at Morphettville Parks on Saturday, May 30.
“That was a strong performance,” McEvoy said.
“He was coming back from 1250m, covered ground and was still good enough to win. Jamie gave him a great ride and allowed him to run to the line without being over extended.
“He was a bit of a quirky horse early on but is starting to learn what racing is all about and continues to improve.”
Over Exposure is proving a value yearling selection by the McEvoy Mitchell team which paid $75,000 for him at the 2016 Magic Million sale, and already he has picked up $128,000 in stakes.
