McEvoy Mitchell appointment
Tony McEvoy, six-time Group 1 winning trainer, and businessman Wayne Mitchell have bolstered their management team with the appointment of Melbourne-based Australian racing blueblood, Matt Tillett.
Matt, son of well-known racing identity Murray Tillett, joined McEvoy Mitchell Racing as Sales and Marketing Manager for their growing operation on August 1.
McEvoy said the appointment was part of growing the McEvoy Mitchell brand.
“The addition of a highly-credentialed Sales & Marketing Manager presents a great opportunity for us to grow our thriving business while still managing the high expectations and delivery that has earned us our fantastic group of loyal owners”, McEvoy said.
Born into a notable breeding and racing family in Western Australia, Matt was destined to a career in thoroughbred racing.
His lifelong involvement has seen him build his career with industry leaders such as Magic Millions, Darley, and most recently Woodside Park Stud as Bloodstock and Sales Manager.
“Matt is well-known and highly regarded,” McEvoy said.
“He brings extensive industry knowledge, a formidable network and a complete set of management skills that fit perfectly with McEvoy Mitchell Racing.”
The past year has been an historic one for the McEvoy Mitchell Racing operation with record-breaking racetrack results and the acquisition of some of the highest quality bloodstock Australian breeders have to offer.
The winning operation has a strong dual-state presence and the Melbourne stable in particular has experienced unprecedented growth.

McEvoy Mitchell Racing was established in 2011 and has grown to become a top 10 stable in Australia in 2017-18. The operation amassed more than $9 million in prizemoney over the past 12 months, with a remarkable strike rate of over 22%.
The stable has built a reputation for two-year-old performers, highlighted in 2017-18 by elite juveniles Sunlight, Oohood, Run Naan, Kinky Boom and many more.
With the new racing season upon us and the arrival of the best-ever, ready to race two-year-old crop, the winning operation is looking forward to continued success with both current and new owners alike.
