Trust in Tan Tat

Tan Tat Trusting finished powerfully to give trainer Tony McEvoy a double at Morphettville Parks on Saturday, September 1.
After winning the opening race with the impressive Farooq, McEvoy had to wait until the final event to land his double with Tan Tat Trusting.
The $4.60 favourite, Tan Tat Trusting finished brilliantly to score by half-a-length in the Quayclean Handicap (1400m) from Moghul Empire ($4.80) with Sensation Ally ($41), 2-1/2 lengths away third.
Assistant trainer Calvin McEvoy said he had to give a ‘shout out’ to the Kildalton Park farriers and veterinary staff.
“This bloke was due to run last week but had a sore foot and we had to scratch,” McEvoy said.
“They did a great job to have him right for today.
“The race didn’t go to plan. We thought he would be outside the speed but credit to jockey Jason Holder, he went to plan B and it worked.
“Tan Tat Trusting has shown he is not quite up to the Melbourne class at present and thanks to the owners for letting us bring him back to Adelaide.”
Jason Holder said there had been good pace inside him at the start to he elected to sit back.
“The horse travelled really well and I could see with 800 metres to go that the leaders had not really got away from him,” Holder said.
“I thought they would stop and my bloke would let down and he came strongly to win.”
