Sun City on the improve

Sidelined B J McLachlan Stakes (Gr 3, 1200m) winner Sun City (Zoustar) is expected to be discharged from a Queensland veterinary clinic  after an operation last week.

The Tony McEvoytrained colt, who was one of the pre-post favourites for Saturday’s Magic Millions 2YO Classic, was found to have an infection in an off fore leg last Wednesday.

“He has had a good time of it since he’s had the flushout,” McEvoy said.

“The horse has responded really well and my vets are really happy with him and the progress he is making.

“All being well, he will be released from the vet hospital on Wednesday and come back into our care. We will just take it bit by bit. There are no plans with him at the moment but first and foremost will be his health and wellbeing.”
