Indrabeel brings up a treble

Recent stable addition Indrabeel started off her career with trainer Tony McEvoy with a comfortable win at Gawler on Thursday, April 25.

The win gave McEvoy and jockey Barend Vorster a Gawler treble having won earlier with Hinchpin sand You Hadme At Hello.

Indrabeel ($1.90 fav) scored a 1-/2 length win in the Anzac Appeal – Holdfast Insurance Brokers Benchmark 60 Handicap (1506m) beating Mabel Josephine ($12) with Time Rogue ($2.50), a long neck away third.

“The mare only just came into my stable,” McEvoy said.

“I gave her a week at the farm before bringing her back to Kildalton Park.

“She was purchased in February and the owners have asked me to try and get some black type in her pedigree.

“I’m still learning about her but was very happy with today’s win and I’m sure there is plenty of improvement.

Indrabeel sat fourth early, one wide early before Vorster put her in a challenging position around the home turn.

Once in the straight the mare drew clear to win comfortably.

McEvoy said he would look at the calendar to select the four-year-old’s next race.
