This gorgeous grey girl was a must buy for team McEvoy!
She is by St Mark’s Basilica, who was European Champion two-year-old and Cartier horse of the year. He is exceptionally bred, being by the French Champion Sire Siyouni, and out of a precocious, fast, G.2 winning 2YO mare, which should ensure he breeds the much sought after Aussie speed!
Described by the master trainer Aidan O’ Brien as, “probably one of the most important horses that we have ever retired to stud since Galileo” we are very excited to witness what he, and more importantly this filly, can achieve on Australian shores. The Siyouni line has already proven itself to be successful at getting a G.1 winning racehorse in Australia. In fact, the very filly to achieve this, AMELIA’S JEWEL, was raised in the same paddocks as this filly at Segenhoe Stud!
An early foal raised at one of the most elite stud properties in the country, this filly has every chance of succeeding on the track.
Currently lying second in the Australian blacktype producing stud farm premiership, Segenhoe is a stud that consistently punches above its weight. It is renowned for producing champions at an amazing strike rate.
